The Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that there is no particular national minimum Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination (UTME) score for universities, polytechnics and colleges of education in the country.
Its Head, Media and Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, who made the clarification yesterday in Abuja, said the UTME mark was not the sole determinant for placement of candidates in tertiary institutions
The spokesman explained that the decisions at the yearly policy meeting on admission do not tamper with the minimum prescriptions of institutions, except for the few ones whose cut-offs fall below the benchmark of the board.
